Description

This certificate in full-stack development is designed to give students a broad understanding of web development and design as well as backend, data management. Students who complete the program will have a wide-ranging skill set that will allow them to work on both front-facing and backend aspects of web design and management. Students are exposed to JavaScript, SQL, Python, and more.

Whether you are already in the IT field or looking to start a new career, this program is designed to help you become a skilled full-stack developer in 12 months or less. This program is designed to provide students the best of both worlds: self-paced and fully online along with synchronous learning sessions and activities with instructors and fellow students. We believe this model will help with both material comprehension and soft skills/network building.

Upon completion of this online full-stack developer program, students will be awarded a certificate from Washington Technical Institute. WTI is a fully accredited online school, accredited by the Middle States Association.

Job Outlook for Developers:

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, web developers and digital designers have a 13% projected job growth between 2020-2023, which is considered faster than average. Developers work in a range of environments from tech businesses, small and large organizations, and even from home. Organizations of all types and sizes need well-trained developers to compete in this connected, global world. You can find more information here.

Features

Interactive Online Learning that Fits Your Schedule

Washington Technical Institute understands that you have a busy schedule and that you are looking for a school that will fit into your lifestyle. Our virtual classroom helps you fit your education into your life. Our synchronous sessions are designed to help provide additional instructor-led activities and interactions to help with some of the more complex topics. No need to worry, though…if you miss a session, they are all recorded! You can connect with your instructor on questions you have at any time.

Program Starts

This program starts every two weeks so that students can begin the program with a cohort of students starting at the same time, whenever possible. A list of start dates for 2022 can be found below: (I’ll provide this when we finalize our first official start day)

Technology Requirements

Students will need to have access to the internet as well as a computer that can work with the software used in this program. Using a Chromebook, tablet, or phone will not be possible for this program given the nature of the material. Most software used will be open-source, free downloads. However, students may need to purchase short-term subscriptions to software. The benefit of students purchasing this software themselves is that all the work they do will stay with them and they will have access to it after they complete their program with WTI.
