If you’re an adult in the U.S., the likelihood that you have at least one chronic disease is pretty high. The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (part of the CDC) reports that 6 in 10 adults in the U.S. have one chronic disease, and 4 in 10 have two or more. In fact, chronic disease is the leading cause of death and disability in the U.S. as well at being at the top of the list related to health care costs.
