Tuition Payments
Tuition payments shall be made by Student according to the agreed upon payment schedule. Student understands that there is a ten (5) day grace period for payments. Late payments shall result in a $25 late fee. If the Student is more than five (5) business days late in making a scheduled payment, his/her student account may be suspended. If the Student has any outstanding balance more than sixty (60) days old, his/her enrollment may be terminated unless there is a written agreement with WOLI to the contrary. If Student has secured a student loan, then payments shall be made to the loan provider according to the payment schedule provided by the loan provider. Until such a loan is secured and a promissory note is signed, Student will be held liable for the full tuition. The undersigned Student agrees to pay any and all collection costs, attorney fees, and court costs should they become delinquent in their payments. If student is delinquent in their tuition payments, WOLI reserves the right to charge Students credit card on file for any and all past-due tuition fees plus late fees incurred.
REVIEW ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT HERE
If Student elects to be on an automatic payment plan, Student authorizes WOLI to automatically charge a credit card on file according to the tuition payment schedule. Student must notify WOLI if he or she wishes to discontinue the automatic charge option and arrange for alternative payment method. The student is responsible for making the school aware in any change involving a card on file and providing the updated information.
If the tuition is being paid by a third party (e.g., the Student's employer, a government agency, or any other private, non-profit, or public agency or institution), Student agrees that if the third party either does not pay the required tuition payments, or otherwise defaults on tuition payments, then Student will be liable for any remaining balance due to WOLI plus any fees assessed for delinquency.
CANCELATION AND REFUND POLICY
"Buyer's Right to Cancel." (136A.826 Subd. 2 (3) Students may cancel or withdraw fax, phone, or email.
Binding Agreement and Governing Law: This Agreement is a legally binding contract when signed by you and accepted by Washington Online Learning Institute at its offices in Minnesota and is governed by Minnesota law. Your digital signature on this agreement indicates you have read and understand its terms and any literature you have received from us, and you believe you are able to benefit from your program.
If your application is rejected, you will receive a full refund of all tuition, fees, and other charges. You will be entitled to a full refund of tuition, fees, and other charges if you give written notice that you are canceling your contract within five business days after the contract or enrollment agreement is considered effective. A contract or enrollment agreement will be presumed to effective on the date of that the institution notifies you that you have been accepted into the institution, and you have signed the contract or enrollment agreement. If the notification of acceptance into the institution is sent by mail, then the effective day of being accepted is the postmark on the acceptance letter.
This five-day refund policy applies regardless of when the program starts. If you give notice by phone or email more than five days after you signed the contract, but before the start of the first online lesson, you will receive a refund of all tuition, fees, and other charges minus 15%, up to $50, of the total cost of the program. Following 5-days, you will be provided a prorated tuition, fees, and other charges refund minus a 25%, up to $100 administrative if you provide verbal or email notice of your withdrawal after your program has begun, but before 75% program has completed. If you withdraw from your program after 75% of the program has completed, you are not entitled to a refund of tuition, fees, and other charges. You will receive notice acknowledging your withdraw request within ten business days after receipt of the notice, and you will receive a refund of any tuition, fees, and other charges within 30 business days of receipt of your withdrawal.
Telephone or email notice of withdrawal is effective the date verbal, or email notice is given on the day it has been communicated to the institution. If you do not withdraw by telephone or email or contact the institution about your absence, and you have not attended your program for 21 consecutive days, you will be considered to have withdrawn from the school as of your last date of attendance. WOLI reserves the right to academically cancel any student who fails to demonstrate satisfactory progress toward graduation. Academic dishonesty or other violations of the School Catalog may also result in disciplinary action up to and including the termination of your enrollment.
VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL
Students may encounter circumstances, which necessitate them to withdrawal from the school. Whatever the problem, students are strongly encouraged to first allow Washington Online Learning Institute staff to try to resolve the issue before withdrawing from the school. Washington Online Learning Institute is in a unique position to make a change in attendance, scheduling, or approving a leave of absence. After meeting with our staff, if a student still decides to withdrawal, the school must be notified by phone, email, in writing or fax or by an E-signature on a WOLI formal withdrawal form.
Additional Terms
Schedule of Classes: WOLI recommends that the Student spend a minimum of twelve (20) hours per week on his or her studies for each course. Students who are from agency-funded programs must adhere to that agency's requirements. This is normally no less than 20 (twenty) hours per week. There are no mandatory scheduled class meetings that student must attend, but student must complete all assigned coursework, exams, quizzes, and other assessments to be considered for award of a Certificate. The Online Classroom is available 24 hours/day via the Internet, and students may log in to the Online Classroom at any time.
Coursework must be completed by the scheduled end date for each course. Short extensions may be granted at the discretion of the school director. If the Student requires a longer period of time in which to finish coursework, he or she may request a Leave of Absence. The Student may be subject to additional registration and/or rescheduling fee in this case.
A student may choose to reschedule his or her courses if, for example, he or she falls behind, or takes a leave of absence.
For students in a Certificate Program, WOLI will reschedule courses once at no charge. WOLI charges $100 to the student for each subsequent reschedule request. For students taking individual courses, each revision will be subject to the $100 revision fee. If students are required to retake a course, the student may be charged the full tuition for the course.
If the tuition for the programs and/or courses has changed between the Student's original enrollment date and the rescheduled date, WOLI may require Student to pay the difference in tuition before Student may continue with his or her courses. WOLI may also require Students to pay registration and lab fees again in the case of a leave of absence.
Certificates: Certificates signifying satisfactory completion will be issued after completion of the entire program or course and all tuition fees are paid in full.
Incidental Costs: Tuition does not cover any costs related to Internet access or telephone calls that Student may incur during enrollment at WOLI.
Online Classroom: WOLI will grant to Student access to the Online Classroom for the stated duration of courses that Student is enrolled in, providing that Student is in compliance with WOLI enrollment requirements, including: 1) WOLI is in receipt of a fully-executed Enrollment Agreement from Student; 2) Student is current in his or her tuition payments; 3) If applicable, WOLI is in receipt of fully-executed loan documents.
Student understands that it may be necessary from time to time for WOLI to perform upgrades and enhancements to the Online Classroom which may render it inaccessible for short periods of time. WOLI will do everything in its power to notify Student in advance of any scheduled outages.
School Office Hours: WOLI offices are open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday except for major holidays.
Placement Assistance: Placement assistance is provided in the form of posting job openings or by referring graduates to potential employers and placement partners. However, it is understood that WOLI does not and cannot promise or guarantee employment, nor level of income or wage rate to any student or graduate.
