PLAW-303: Paralegal Certification Prep

This online paralegal course provides a comprehensive review of legal knowledge and practical skills to prepare students for paralegal certification exams and entry into the legal profession. Course Description

PLAW-303: Paralegal Certification Prep is an online paralegal course designed as the capstone to a paralegal studies program. Using Paralegal Today: The Legal Team at Work (8th Edition) by Miller and Meinzinger, this course provides a structured review of the major topics covered in certification exams and daily legal practice.

Students will revisit the foundations of the paralegal profession, including ethics, professional responsibility, and the paralegal’s role in the legal team. Core competencies such as legal research, writing, interviewing, investigation, and trial preparation are reinforced through practical review. Substantive areas of law—including torts, contracts, real property, family law, business organizations, bankruptcy, and environmental law—are also examined.

Designed to help learners integrate their knowledge and strengthen their professional readiness, this course emphasizes test-taking strategies, applied legal skills, and professional standards. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the confidence and preparation necessary to pursue paralegal certification and transition effectively into employment in the legal field.
