Course Description

The Intellectual Property Law course introduces students to the legal frameworks that protect creative, innovative, and commercial assets in today’s economy. Using Intellectual Property: The Law of Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents, and Trade Secrets, 6th Edition by Deborah E. Bouchoux, Esq., the course examines the four major areas of intellectual property (IP): trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.

Students will study registration processes, enforcement strategies, infringement issues, and remedies, as well as related concepts such as unfair competition and IP audits. Special attention is given to international IP frameworks and emerging challenges in digital technology and globalization.
