Course Description

CJ-206: Criminal Justice & Corrections is an online criminal justice course that provides an in-depth look at how the U.S. correctional system operates. Using Corrections Today by Maroun, Siegel, and Bartollas, students will examine sentencing practices, community-based alternatives, jail and prison systems, and the daily realities of incarceration.

Key topics include probation, intermediate sanctions, the prison experience, rehabilitation programs, and prisoners’ rights. Students will also study parole, community reentry, and the management of special populations, including juveniles and individuals on death row.

By combining theory with real-world perspectives, the course prepares students to critically evaluate correctional practices, explore ethical and policy debates, and apply their knowledge to careers in corrections, law enforcement, or human services.

Do you want me to also go back and retrofit CJ-201 through CJ-205 with this slightly longer blurb + overview style, so all your criminal justice courses align perfectly?
