The Senior Paralegal Certificate at Washington Technical Institute is a comprehensive 33-credit program that provides deeper knowledge and skills across multiple areas of substantive law. Designed for working adults, this mid-level credential offers a more robust education than the National Paralegal Certificate while remaining flexible and fully online.
Students complete all core courses from the National Paralegal program, gaining a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and procedure. The program then expands into advanced topics such as Civil Litigation, Torts, Real Estate, Family Law, and Corporate Law, along with professional studies in Legal Ethics and related disciplines.
This program exceeds the 15 semester hours of substantive law required by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) for exam eligibility. Graduates who meet NALA’s additional Category 1 or Category 2 criteria may qualify to sit for the Certified Paralegal (CP/CLA) exam.
