The Cybersecurity Certificate provides the essential foundation for protecting modern information systems against cyberattacks. Designed for students pursuing careers in IT security, network defense, and risk management, this 12-credit program blends technical skills with strategic security principles. Graduates will be prepared to earn in-demand certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, and CompTIA PenTest+, building both operational and management-level expertise.

You’ll begin with Network Security (CYB-201), learning the core principles of securing systems and networks through cryptography, access controls, and vulnerability management—key skills aligned with the CompTIA Security+ exam.

Next, Cybersecurity Management (CYB-202) explores the governance side of security, including risk assessment, compliance, policy development, and incident response planning. You’ll understand how to build and maintain effective cybersecurity programs within an organization.

In Cybersecurity Analyst (CYB-302), you’ll gain hands-on experience analyzing threats, identifying indicators of compromise, and managing incident response processes using real-world tools and frameworks aligned with the CompTIA CySA+ certification.

The program concludes with Penetration Testing & Ethical Hacking (CYB-303), where you’ll take on the role of an ethical hacker, simulating attacks to uncover vulnerabilities and strengthen defenses while preparing for the CompTIA PenTest+ certification.

Together, these courses provide a comprehensive learning pathway that balances technical, analytical, and strategic cybersecurity skills—preparing you for entry-level roles such as Security Analyst, SOC Technician, Penetration Tester, or IT Security Specialist.
