This self-paced course explores basic economic principles and their relation to the world around us. The student explores in depth the principles of supply and demand, capital and labor, and the relationship between government and business. Other subjects include basic economic theory, the private and public sectors, the demand curve, market forces, market structure, market institutions, business organization, and the financial markets. Students also review the role of public policy, the national economy, fiscal policy, money, and the banking system. There are many opportunities for assessment of facts learned and many interesting and thought-provoking questions presented which shed light on the day to day impact of economics on business operations and career planning.

Course Format: Instructor Led Online Course
Students are required to complete weekly reading assignments both from the textbook and other supplemental materials. Students must also participate in discussions with the course instructor and fellow students. Discussion forums are provided in the WTI online classroom.
Online tests are conducted at the end of each course.
Students are not required to attend any scheduled class meetings. Log in at your convenience to attend school.
