Enrollment Requirements for Washington Technical Institute

Age Requirement

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
  • Applicants under 18 must provide proof of high school completion and written permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Educational Requirement

  • Provide proof of high school graduation or an approved equivalency: GED, TASC, or HiSET.
  • College transcripts are not accepted as proof of high school completion.

Identification

  • Submit a valid, government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport) during enrollment.
  • WTI must have a valid photo ID on file prior to graduation.

English Language Proficiency

  • All instruction is in English. Students must be able to read, write, and speak English at a 12th-grade level.
  • WTI does not offer ESL (English-as-a-Second-Language) instruction.

International Students

  • International applicants are welcome to study online from outside the U.S. if their secondary credential is equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma.
  • WTI is fully online and does not issue Form I-20; programs are not eligible for F-1 visas.
  • Students are responsible for ensuring online study meets their country’s academic and legal requirements.

Technology Requirements

  • Regular access to a computer and the Internet is required.
  • Courses are delivered asynchronously via WTI’s online platform; modern browsers are supported. Google Chrome is recommended.
  • Some programs may require specific software or operating systems.
